Just sold my leather Dainese motorcycle suit on eBay.
They now take 10% of your auction price. So for the $700 listed they grabbed $70. Then they charged me $3 on the $25 I had to collect to give straight to UPS for shipping.
So now we are at $73 fees out of my $700 sale. Then paypal takes 2.5% so there goes another almost $20. Not to mention I can’t touch my money for 21 days as they hold it and will not release it while the buyer has had the merchandise for several weeks!
WTF is going on here? Out of my $700 sale they took nearly $100.
Real estate agents and car dealerships don’t even have this type of commision not to mention overhead?
I’m done with eBay! What about you guys?

Problem: EVERYBODY uses eBay. Their fees are horrendous, but what are you going to use, Bonanza? I’ve sold 2, maybe 3 items on the Bo over the past couple years, despite importing my eBay sales.
I’ve had several run-ins with eBay, and I would absolutely jump ship in a heartbeat if there were any other legitimate options.
In your case, a motorcycle forum would’ve been your best bet.

Yeah, I sold an old Tag on Ebay last month and same deal. I use it as a last resort. I couldn’t unload it on CL or OfferUp

Just wait till they open a case and say it wasn’t as described. They completely cater to the buyers now, any buyers abuse the policies created to protect them. You can’t even leave negative feedback as the seller to warn the next seller.

Yeah I agree their is not much in the way of competition. Craigslist is another option but the amount of spam that place has is unreal. I really like Kijiji in Canada but being down south of the border now, Kijiji hasn’t made its footprint here yet!
